After being hit by Global recession and other local tragedies Kerela Tourism has a reason to smile, the state has been rated as Worlds 23rd Best Tourist Destination by the National Geographic. This will no doubt be highlighted and will be the USP for the state in all future communication. The tourism in the state has shown an increase in the past few years and so has the tourism revenue. The tourist season which has already stated in mid November was feared to be bad one this year due to the boat tragedy in Thekkady earlier this year but this rating by the National Geographic is like a boost in the arm and will surely have a positive effect.
